Here at Starting 5 Sports Management we don’t usually endorse any brands nor we are in any way connected to Adidas. However for the new Adidas Forum High Sneakers, we had to make an exception, because not only do they rock an incredibly cool and stylish retro look, but they also pay hommage to one of the greatest basketball European teams and the most successful former Yugoslavia and now Croatian team, 3 time Euroleague Champion “Jugoplastika”. If by any chance you are not familiar with the Euro basketball history of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Jugoplastika was a Tour de Force for several consecutive years, that dominated European basketball and gave us some great basketball legends and NBA players like Dino Radja, Toni Kukoc and Zan Tabak ending their run with a three peat Euroleague crown. Adidas recognized that history of excellence and made a limited series sneaker, with the name of the legendary club from Split, Croatia. The reason we are making an exception and mentioning it here on our page, is because not only is it part of our history here at Starting 5, due to the fact that we are based in Croatia but also more precisely part of our family history as well. In fact, the last head coach that won the Euroleague title with “Jugoplastika”, against Barcelona in 1991, was Zeljko Pavlicevic who also happens to be the father of yours truly and our own FIBA agent Vedran Pavlicevic. This was also the last Euroleague title ever won by a former Yugoslavian team, a region that was and still is, the hot spot for basketball talent in Europe to this day. So this story for several of those reasons, feels very personal to us here at Starting 5 not only as Croatians, but also as part of our own family and legacy of excellence, which we were lucky and appreciative that Adidas decided to honor and immortalize with their new one of a kind sneakers! #sneakers #adidas #jugoplastika #euroleaguechampion #legendaryclub #history #split #croatia #legacy #forumhigh #europe #basketball #oneofakind #starting5mgmt #instagram #instacool
